Recreation is…fun?

Overview

This page showcases some of the work from my time with the Payne Center, where I was the Senior Designer. There were multiple project types, and deadlines. Having this job showed me how things really worked in real time outside of the classroom. I started here in the Fall of 2019.

Drink Ads

The drink ads were outdated, and I was tasked with bringing a modern touch to them. I directed the photography, and eventually took my own pictures of the drinks. This project was based on photo editing and retouching. I had to keep them linear and make them have their own theme, unless they were the same drink.

Mural Design

This project started in the summer of 2020, and I had to come up with a mural that reflected the school. The theme was to be sketchy to give it a better feel. Creating this didn’t take long, but the revisions did due to the extent of them. The project turned out great, and the progress that led to the final version can be seen below. The first image is the final version that was selected. These images showcase the process that I went through while creating this. I completed the mural in the Fall of 2021, and it was installed earlier this year, which was Spring 2021.

F45 Campaign

The Functional 45, or F45 for short, program came to my school recently. I was tasked with changing the branding to match the school’s, along with creating original pieces that reflected what the program was about. Please open the last row in a new tab to see the full image. The design is based on training and being active, and the first image is a tv design ad.

In House Ads

These are additional pieces that I created during my time, and I wanted to keep them different but similar enough to know that it was my design. I think design unity was a big part of the work presented here. Each design was for a different event, but it was a process for each one. The ones that I had the most fun with were the e-sports, because it gave me a chance to be involved in the research area behind each game more. The last images are designed for tv. DISCLAIMER: Some images were saturated due to web color.

Classic Rodeo

Last Spring, I had the chance to create and direct the campaign for the annual rodeo. Given, I wasn’t the biggest fan of rodeos, but I did love the creative process that went into the campaign. The biggest challenge was the poster, because every brand wanted to be included on it, and it almost made it feel too busy. But eventually, I figured it out, and the brands loved it, which is all that mattered. I was able to see my work displayed throughout town and promoted which I thought was a nice final touch.
