History
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the largest civil rights organization in the nation. In 1909, W. E. B. Du Bois and Ida B. Wells founded it to combat racism and violence in America.
I joined because I want to do everything in my power to combat racism and pave a better future. There are many ways to be involved. The organization is apart of many clubs that support the push for equality and equal opportunity.
I encourage everyone to join the NAACP and do what they can to help create a better environment.
The experience and feeling that I have from being a member is exhilarating, considering what the organization has done for the betterment of my people.
The university is great for its support of equality and to hear our voices. The NAACP’s goal is to educate all persons regardless of race; the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of everyone to eliminate racial discrimination.
